Create the beautiful 20" FG fashion doll, Mlle. Florence, and dress in her a winter costume of luscious Italian silk velvet and fur. Costume includes skirt, jacket, hat, muff and blouse. Also included in the seminar are a pattern for the underwear and a kit for leather boots to be completed at home.

Christinne with French Frock and Hat
Kristin Thor, Virginia

Kristin has designed a very special French frock for Christinne, the large new E14J that fits on the FB21S composition body. You will complete the doll and costume, consisting of a drop waist silk dress with French draping and a matching hat.

Mlle. Lilianne Bride

Join us for an English tea party!  Make 24" (61 cm) Mlle. Lilianne and dress her as a bride.  Costume includes dress, jacket, headdress, veil, flower bouquet and underwear. On the last day we will celebrate with an authentic afternoon tea.

Apprentice I/Beautiful Doll 1

This is an introduction to porcelain dollmaking. Learn about casting, Dust-free Cleaning of soft-fired ware, eye cutting, firing a kiln, china painting in the Waterbase Technique and stringing and assembling dolls.  You can choose whether you want to make two classic dolls in this seminar or one 14" all-bisque modern doll. You will also receive a free head mold, Seeley's catalog and Golden Key to Porcelain Dollmaking, a dollmaker's handbook.

Ellarose Painting Specialty

Join Carla for another of her creative modern doll seminars. Paint two versions of sculptor John Nissen's beautiful Ellarose--one with exotic skin coloring.  Finish one doll and one painted head.

Apprentice II/Beautiful Doll 2

This second seminar in the Apprentice/Beautiful Doll series will challenge you to apply the skills you learned in the Apprentice I/Beautiful Doll 1 seminar. If you choose apprentice II you will complete two dolls. If Beautiful Doll 2 is selected you will complete one large modern doll and an additional head with wig.

The goal of this seminar is to expose you to: casting difficult molds, patching greenware, greenware attachments, handling wet greenware, proper kiln loading, firing kiln maintenance, Waterbase Technique china painting, Dust Free Cleaning technique, studio organization, selling in your studio, the Beginner's Project: My Princess, and the secret to successful teaching.
